According to defence-ua.com, the SCILT active protection complex, presented by Mehler Protection, has a simple and cheap design. It is possible that it will soon go on sale.
The complex can be installed on any vehicle, including tanks, armored personnel carriers, infantry fighting vehicles, armored vehicles, etc. SCILT consists of special blocks, each of which is equipped with a set of counter-munitions and built-in means for detecting threats – cameras or other systems.

Experts note that using cameras instead of a radar station will significantly reduce the cost of the complex. The price is also affected by the fact that instead of expensive unique ammunition, ordinary 12-gauge shotgun cartridges with different fillings are used.
Currently, the complex is capable of independently detecting a target, tracking it, and notifying the crew, which then gives the command to intercept.
It is possible that the first version of SCILT will go on sale in the summer of 2026.

The Atlantic previously reported on the development by Ukrainian specialists of a prototype laser weapon capable of silently destroying drones from a distance. It is a compact Sunray installation that can be placed in the trunk of a pickup truck.
