“Cynical murder”: Putin commented on the elimination of Khamenei

Russian President Vladimir Putin , whose state has significantly strengthened military and strategic cooperation with Iran in recent years, called the death of the country's supreme leader Ali Khamenei as a result of US and Israeli airstrikes “a cynical violation of all norms of human morality and international law,” Radio Liberty reports.

As reported in the Kremlin, in a Telegram message to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Putin expressed “deep condolences” in connection with the liquidation of Khamenei and several members of his family, addressing words of support to “the entire Iranian people.”

“In our country, Ayatollah Khamenei will be remembered as an outstanding statesman who made a huge personal contribution to the development of friendly Russian-Iranian relations, bringing them to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership,” the Russian ruler said.

As “FACTS” wrote, Russia previously appealed to the US and Israel with a harsh demand to stop the strikes on Iran.
