President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declared the signing of an accord with his Syrian equivalent, Ahmed al-Sharaa, concerning the reinstatement of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

Ukraine and Syria inked an agreement regarding the renewal of diplomatic connections between both countries.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this known following a discussion with his Syrian counterpart, Ahmed al-Sharaa.
“Today, Ukraine and Syria formalized a Joint Communiqué on the resumption of diplomatic affairs. We welcome this significant advancement and stand ready to assist the Syrian populace on their journey toward stability,” Zelenskyy stated.
He mentioned that during the talks, the participants thoroughly examined prospective domains for the growth of collaboration, security concerns for both nations, and the necessity of confronting them.
“We concurred on establishing relations founded on shared esteem and confidence,” the statement reads.
Earlier reports indicated that US President Donald Trump engaged with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa in Riyadh – marking the initial summit of this magnitude in the past quarter-century.
We had previously reported that the freshly formed Syrian administration has submitted a request to the Kremlin for the repatriation of former President Bashar Assad, who had escaped to Moscow.
