Belarusian tennis players continue to perform successfully in international tournaments, demonstrating high results in various corners of the globe.
One of the main heroes of the day's play was Yulia Gotovko, who confidently advanced to the singles quarterfinals at the ITF tournament in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, a Belnovosti correspondent reports with reference to BELTA .
In the 1/8 final match, the Belarusian left no chance for Japanese tennis player Mua Shigeta, crushing her opponent in two sets with the same score 6:1, 6:1.

Earlier in the competition, Gotovko, ranked 797th in the world, won a comeback victory over Sweden's Linea Bajralju, losing the first set but managing to turn the tide of the match – 0:6, 6:2, 6:4.
Now the Belarusian will compete with Russian tennis player Kristina Kroitor for a place in the semi-finals.
Gotovko's doubles performance is also going well. She has already played two matches with Russian Daria Zelinskaya, both of which ended in crushing victories.
First, the Belarusian-Russian duo left no chance for the Armenian-Russian tandem of Alina Soghomonyan and Milana Konovalov – 6:0, 6:2, and then, in the same dominant manner, they beat the Italian-Swiss pair Sofia Avataneo and Aylin Samardzic – 6:2, 6:2.
In the semi-finals, they will face the Egyptian duo Hania Abuelsaad and Natalie Mokhtar.
Another Belarusian tennis player, Alena Falei, is also performing successfully on French courts. At the tournament in Mâcon, she defeated Italian Isabella Šerban in two sets—6:3, 7:6 (9:7).
A tight second set ended only in a tiebreak, where the Belarusian prevailed. Tomorrow, Falley will face France's Jenny Lim in the quarterfinals.
The performance of Belarusians in men's tennis also drew attention. In Lille, France, Belarusian Ivan Liutarevich and Poland's Filip Pieczonka reached the doubles quarterfinals.
In a tense match, they defeated the French duo of Arthur Reymond and Lucas Sanchez. The match ended 7-6 (7-4), 6-7 (1-7), 10-8, with the winners only snatching victory in a super tiebreak.
At the tournament in Monastir, Tunisia, Belarusian Daniil Ostapenkou opened with a confident victory over Italian Luca Castagnola—7:6 (10:8), 6:1. However, he failed to advance further: today in the round of 16, he lost to Swede Leo Borg, son of legendary tennis player Björn Borg, with a score of 4:6, 4:6.
In doubles, Ostapenko and another Belarusian, Sergei Betov, failed to reach the semifinals, losing to the Kazakh-Italian duo Amir Omarkhanov and Matteo Schiabasi 4:6, 1:6.
