The Middle East is increasingly embroiled in a significant security dilemma. The President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed (MBZ), has formally asserted that his nation is presently in a war footing.

The impetus for this pronouncement was the recent barrage of missile strikes executed by Iran on the Gulf country.
“The nation is at war, yet remains powerful and a ‘difficult target,'” the president stated.
Assaults on the UAE — recent updates
Iran initiated another assault on the UAE on March 2. Explosions were reported in the city of Ras al-Khaimah.
On March 3, Iran once more targeted the Fujairah oil facility in the UAE using an unmanned aerial vehicle. An Omani harbor was also attacked. As is widely known, this location is a major global hub for petroleum storage and refueling, facilitating oil exports from the Persian Gulf. A substantial conflagration erupted in the harbor.
Furthermore, on March 6, an Air France evacuation aircraft, chartered by the French government to return its nationals from the United Arab Emirates, was compelled to reverse course mid-air due to a missile threat within the region.
Conflict in the Middle East — recent developments
It is worth noting that, according to media sources, Trump’s conflict against Iran is spreading into Europe . Iran is already assailing certain European military installations. The US asserts the operation will span several weeks. Meanwhile, analysts are projecting diverse outcomes for the unfolding events – ranging from de-escalation to a prolonged standoff.
Incidentally, on March 5, a pair of drones originating from Iranian territory assailed the Azerbaijani city of Nakhichevan . One impacted the terminal structure of the international airport, situated approximately 10 km from the boundary, while the other landed near a school in the locality of Shakarabad.
As a consequence of this assault, two individuals sustained injuries, and the airport infrastructure suffered damage.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry denounced the assault as a grave infringement of international statutes. The Iranian ambassador was summoned to deliver a formal grievance, and Baku also stipulated that Tehran undertake an inquiry and furnish assurances that analogous occurrences will not recur.
Additionally, in prior events, Iran discharged a guided missile towards Turkey , which traversed the airspace of Iraq and Syria.
