The ship's captain was sentenced to two years in prison.

As the source clarified, if he files an appeal, he could be released on bail of two thousand Egyptian pounds.

The second defendant, the man responsible for the bathyscaphe's maintenance, was given a six-month prison sentence and can also be released on £1,000 bail.

Let us recall that the incident occurred with the bathyscaphe of the Sindbad Hotel; the tourists were clients of the Biblio-Globus company.

According to the consulate general, the flooding began during landing near the offshore platform, and water quickly filled the vessel.

It was also reported that the crew did not have the necessary maritime licenses to work at such facilities, and the number of people on board exceeded the established requirements.
