In the Chernivtsi area, a Syrian national was apprehended at the border with Romania, attempting to unlawfully enter Ukraine in a lorry, concealed under a pile of diapers.
This was communicated by Chernivtsi Customs.
The event took place on the Ukrainian-Romanian boundary at the Porubne-Siret crossing point. Customs officials employed a screening system to detect an individual within a vehicle coming from Turkey.
“During the control, the scanner’s depiction showed an inconsistency – an outline resembling a human shape,” the customs statement conveyed.
Customs officers alerted frontier guards about the discovery, and in tandem, they examined the cargo area of the HGV. Amid the diapers, they located a male, likely a Syrian national.
Frontier guards are currently undertaking further actions as per their jurisdiction.
