Following Iranian offensives in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the building accommodating the Estonian embassy suffered damages.
This was communicated on Sunday, March 1, by Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna via a Facebook update.
“We have been informed that a multi-story building in Abu Dhabi, where the Estonian embassy is situated, experienced an impact. Thankfully, all embassy personnel are secure,” he stated.
The minister indicated that the risk of projectile attacks persists at a high level across the Middle East region. Iran is continuing to execute large-scale offensives against certain Gulf nations.
He appealed to the citizens of his nation to maintain composure and emphasized that the agency is operating continuously to offer support.
“We are making every effort to guarantee that Estonians who are traveling can return to their homes as soon as possible. We are also in constant communication with other countries to arrange evacuation flights if necessary,” Tsahkna mentioned.
According to the UAE Ministry of Defense, Iran launched 165 ballistic missiles at the country’s terrain, of which 152 were neutralized and 13 landed in the sea. Two guided missiles were also destroyed.
Furthermore, 541 unmanned aerial vehicles were deployed over the UAE, 506 of which were intercepted and eliminated by the country’s Air Force, while 35 landed on the nation’s territory, causing property damage.
The defense ministry reported that three individuals, citizens of Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh, perished in the attacks, and 58 individuals sustained minor injuries.
What is known regarding Iranian assaults within the UAE?
It is worth noting that in reaction to the US and Israeli military operation that commenced on February 28, Iran is launching attacks against not solely American or Israeli objectives across the Middle East.
On Sunday, March 1, Iranian unmanned aircraft and missiles assaulted naval objectives near the UAE capital. The French naval base, Camp de la Paix, was struck. In addition, an Iranian rocket impacted close to a German cruise liner within the harbor of Abu Dhabi.
The preceding day, February 28, amid an assault on the territory of the UAE, Iranian ballistic projectiles were intercepted by air defense systems. The wreckage descended upon a residential sector of Abu Dhabi. One individual was killed, and several additional properties were affected.
