Karina Chelengirova, an Odessa-born individual who has resided in the United Arab Emirates for approximately 12 years, shared details on the situation in the UAE following the Iranian attacks, addressing concerns about potential panic in the nation after the initial Iranian drones and missiles.
The Ukrainian woman conveyed this information within a statement provided to “Social Odesa.”
According to her account, Dubai is operating without disruptions: transportation is functional, shopping centers are open, and there is no scarcity of supplies. Karina dismissed accounts of widespread alarm and the extent of the damage attributed to the Iranian attacks as exaggerated.
The Ukrainian woman emphasizes that there were no conflagrations or destruction observed in the city center. Inhabitants merely detected the sounds of planes and unmanned aerial vehicles. The hotel, subject of reports circulating on social media, resumed its standard operation the subsequent day. Karina underscored that Dubai continues its usual routine.
“Allegations that supermarket shelves are bare – that’s untrue. I visited the supermarket just last night; everything is available, there is no lack of anything. Taxis are running, the subway is operational, and there were several departures from the airport today,” the girl stated.
Simultaneously, educational institutions and certain private enterprises have temporarily transitioned to a remote format. Public services and the hospitality sector are maintaining offline operations. There have been no formal announcements necessitating evacuation or seeking refuge in shelters, the Ukrainian woman noted.
“The water displays near the Burj Khalifa are active in the evening, accompanied by a light show. There is a significant presence of people – both in shopping complexes and on the streets,” Karina mentioned.
It is worth noting that in response to Israeli-American offensives on Iran, Tehran initiated strikes against Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
