In the urban landscape of Dubai, within the United Arab Emirates, renowned for its opulent lifestyle, a road is expected to emerge, purportedly adorned with gold.
Euronews Travel conveys this information, referencing an announcement from the municipal authorities’ communications department.
This thoroughfare, intended to form a segment of Dubai's innovative Golden Quarter, will be “constructed utilizing gold,” as stated in the report.
The developer spearheading the initiative has not disclosed additional specifics regarding the incorporation of the precious metal into the street’s construction. The inauguration date for Golden Street remains unconfirmed.
Dubai's Golden Quarter signifies a revitalization of the city’s established Gold Souk. This locality encompasses roughly 1,000 merchants dealing in gold and jewelry.
“Gold is profoundly ingrained in Dubai’s cultural and commercial essence, embodying our legacy, affluence, and resilient entrepreneurial drive,” articulated Ahmed Al Hajja, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an affiliate of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism.
As per the Dubai Media Office, the UAE ranks as the globe’s second largest commerce hub for tangible gold, with the nation exporting gold valued at $53.41 billion throughout 2024-2025.
It is worth recalling that in the US, a section of roadway in Florida, linking the airport to President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, was formally designated in his tribute.
