Explosions in Abu Dhabi
In addition, there were explosions reported in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. News outlets CNN and Reuters are reporting that a United States base located in the city was targeted in an Iranian missile offensive.
The Ministry of Defense has confirmed that a death occurred as a result of the interception of a ballistic projectile. The deceased was identified as a citizen of Asian descent. The remains of the missile landed within a residential zone of Abu Dhabi.
The UAE issued a declaration acknowledging the interception of a “series” of ballistic missiles originating from Iran, branding the assault a “hazardous escalation and an act of cowardice.” Officials have also asserted their prerogative to retaliate against the Iranian missile action.
As a reminder, just hours following the Israeli-American strike, Iran launched missiles at Israel in retribution. The Israeli military stated its defensive air systems were in operation to counteract the incoming missiles. Prior reports indicated that missile fragments had landed in multiple regions.
Simultaneously, the Iranian military also initiated offensives targeting several American military locations across the Middle East, encompassing US bases situated in Bahrain, Kuwait, and the UAE.
