Belarusian tourists should take note: entry visas to Egypt have become significantly more expensive.

Belarusians who love to vacation in Egypt have learned some unpleasant news.

The country's President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has ordered an increase in entry fees to the republic, reports a correspondent for the online publication Belnovosti.

If in November a visa cost $25, on December 1 its price rose to $45.

The TASS news agency reports this, citing a decree from the head of state.

The decision to increase the price was made in accordance with the resolution of the House of Representatives, the document states.

It was decided to establish a new fee on entry visas in an amount not exceeding 20 dollars, or the equivalent amount in another foreign currency, according to the decree.

The document was signed on November 30 and came into force on December 1.

As already noted, until the first day of winter 2025, a visa to enter Egypt cost $25.

The draft law on increasing entry duties was submitted to the House of Representatives by the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Parliament approved the bill on November 2 of this year.

The decision was criticised by the local federation of tourism chambers.

She asked the Prime Minister and the head of the Ministry of Tourism to prevent an increase in entry visa prices.

The request is justified as follows: price increases could weaken Egypt's position in the tourism services market.

And this could negatively impact the growth in the number of tourists visiting the country.
