The United States has commenced Operation Hawk Strike within Syria, with the purpose of annihilating ISIS fighters, their strongholds, storage facilities, and supply lines.
This announcement was delivered by US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth on his X account.
“Today, the American military initiated Operation Hawk Strike in Syria. Its objective is the obliteration of ISIS combatants, their bases, supply chains, and armament caches,” Hegseth stated.
He highlighted that the determination to execute the operation stemmed from the aggression directed at American personnel near Palmyra on December 13.
The US Secretary of War underscored that these actions did not represent the inception of a fresh conflict, but rather “an act of retribution.”
“This is not the beginning of hostilities — it’s a declaration of vengeance. The United States of America, under the leadership of President Trump, will never falter or retreat when it comes to safeguarding our citizens,” Hegseth affirmed.
He further conveyed that Washington would react forcefully to any attacks perpetrated against US nationals, irrespective of their location globally.
“We made this clear immediately following the brutal assault: if you target Americans — regardless of where it occurs — you will spend the remainder of your brief existences knowing that the United States will pursue you, locate you, and ruthlessly eliminate you,” the minister penned.
According to details from the US Department of War, a considerable number of militants were neutralized during the course of the undertaking. Aerial and projectile strikes are set to continue.
US Central Command validated that the assaults aimed at ISIS infrastructure and storage sites situated in Syria.
“US forces have launched a sweeping offensive against ISIS infrastructure and weapon depots inside Syria. This significant action was a direct response to the assault against US troops and their allies on December 13,” the statement conveyed.
It was previously communicated that US President Donald Trump had stated that there would be a “very stern reaction” following an assault in Syria that resulted in the deaths of two American military members and one civilian.
We previously informed that the US military proclaimed the killing of a top leader of the “Islamic State” (ISIS) alongside two of his sons linked with ISIS in Syria .
