A tragedy occurred at an Egyptian resort popular with many tourists, including those from Belarus and Russia.
A bloodthirsty shark has reappeared. The predator attacked vacationers, killing one and injuring another.
The incident occurred in the Red Sea off the coast of the resort town of Marsa Alam.
As reported by MIA “Russia Today” with reference to the Egyptian Ministry of Environment, a shark attacked two foreigners.
As a result, one of them was injured and the other died, the Russian publication quotes the department's statement as saying.
According to the ministry, the tragedy took place outside the permitted swimming zone.
The Russian Consul General in Hurghada told the news agency that no Russians were injured in the attack by the ferocious predator.
It is known that the deceased and the injured are Italian citizens.
As a reminder, in June 2023, a tiger shark attacked a Russian man in Hurghada, killing him.
She was later captured and embalmed for display in a museum.
And in September, an Egyptian citizen was injured by a shark.
The attack took place off the coast of the resort town of Dahab on the Sinai Peninsula.
