The head of state stated that this region will become a reserve for the diversification of Belarusian exports.

Secondly, the region has significant potential. Africa's GDP and demographic growth rates outpace the global average.

Moreover, resources. The continent contains a third of the world's mineral reserves.

“For Belarus, Africa is like China 30 years ago—a market of the future where we must actively enter and carve out our niches,” Lukashenko emphasized.

At the same time, the head of state criticized the current cooperation program with Africa.

He called it “very easy” and unsystematic.

Today, African countries account for only 2% of Belarusian exports, the president stated.

But the geography of cooperation is gradually expanding. Until 2019, the republic worked only with North African countries – Libya, Egypt, and Sudan.

Now Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Kenya have been added to them.

Botswana, Ghana, Mozambique and Uganda are interested in cooperation.
