Arbroath FC thrashed Bon Accord 36-0.
However, on October 31, 2002, the record, which had stood for 117 years, was broken.

The match ended with a score of 136:0.
This “stunt” cost the players and coach of Stade Olympique l'Émyrne dearly: some were disqualified for several years.
