Operation in Nigeria: Trump ordered the Pentagon to prepare for an invasion

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said his department is preparing for a possible invasion of Nigeria.

The head of the Pentagon received the corresponding order from Donald Trump, reports a correspondent for the online publication Belnovosti.

The US President has instructed the military department to develop plans to destroy terrorist groups responsible for the murder of Christians, Hegseth wrote on social media.

In his publication, the minister issued an ultimatum:

“Either the Nigerian government will protect Christians, or we will eliminate the Islamic terrorists who are committing these atrocities ourselves.”

Earlier, Trump announced his order to the Pentagon on social media.

The American leader announced that Nigeria had been designated a country of “particular concern.”

The Nigerian government has denied the allegations, saying they do not reflect the real security situation in the country.

Senator Ted Cruz echoed the conflict rhetoric, accusing Nigerian authorities of complicity in the killings.

According to him, 50 thousand Christians have been killed in Nigeria since 2009.
