The African Cup of Nations has concluded. The football tournament concluded late Sunday evening (Monday night, Belarusian time).
The decisive match saw the two best teams from the Black Continent – Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire – meet.
Incidentally, the competition took place in the land of the “elephants,” and they, the Ivorians, did not disappoint the thousands of their fans in the packed stadium.

However, the Super Eagles dominated the early stages of the match, with Nigerian William Trost-Ekong scoring in the 38th minute.
In the second half, the “Elephants” began to press their opponents with all their might. They finally equalized in the 62nd minute thanks to Franck Kessie's effort.
And in the 81st minute, Côte d'Ivoire took the lead – with what turned out to be the winning goal from Sébastien Haller.
Thus, the tournament hosts beat Nigeria with a score of 2:1 and won the Cup for the third time in their history.
The last time the Ivorians celebrated such a resounding success was in 2015, and before that they became the best on their continent in 1992.
Earlier, the winner of the Asian Cup was determined in the Qatar-Jordan match.
