The death of the forward of the Vitebsk football club has been announced.
Nigerian footballer Kelvin Odenigbo has passed away. The tragedy occurred on Saturday, June 5.
Information about the footballer's death was confirmed on the Vitebsk team's social media page.
It was reported that yesterday morning the athlete's body was discovered by OSVOD workers in Lake Beloye.
The water body is located in the area of the Verasy tourist center in the Vitebsk region.
Kelvin Odenigbo was reported to have drowned. He was 20 years old.
Representatives of the Vitebsk football club promise to release additional information as it becomes available.
The team expressed its condolences to the athlete's family and friends, as well as the club's fans.
Kelvin Odenigbo began his professional sports career in 2017, playing for the Nigerian club NAF Rockets FC.
The forward joined Vitebsk in 2021. He played in four matches for the Belarusian club. He didn't score any goals for the team, but he did have an assist.
