Cameroon has verified the fatalities of 16 of its nationals who battled for Russia in Ukraine.

The Cameroonian government has formally acknowledged the passing of 16 of its people who took part in the conflict against Ukraine, supporting Russia.
This information was released by the nation’s Foreign Ministry, which dispatched a relevant communication to Russia, according to The Independent.
The ministry specified that “required actions” are presently underway to notify the families of those who died.
Furthermore, relatives of six additional Cameroonian individuals in Russia were summoned to a private conference with diplomats to address “pressing matters.”

The announcement follows wider indications of international engagement in the battle. As per media accounts, nationals from African nations, including Kenya and Nigeria, are being enlisted or deceived into fighting for Russia.
It was earlier documented that the Ghanaian government had urged Russia to cease enlisting its people into the Russian military following the verified deaths of 55 Ghanaians.
We also indicated that roughly one thousand Kenyan nationals were unlawfully recruited to engage in combat on Russia’s behalf in the war against Ukraine.
