Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa stressed the importance of concluding the trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur as it is a priority to deepen Portuguese-Brazilian relations, he said during a discussion with Brazilian Vice President Geraldo Alckmin on Wednesday.
These positions were conveyed by António Costa on his account on the social network Twitter, after receiving the Brazilian vice-president in São Bento, the prime minister’s official residence in Lisbon.
“The deepening of the bilateral economic relationship, following the [Brazilian Portuguese] summit and the Business Forum that we held in April, is a shared priority and one that we are focused on,” the leader of the Portuguese executive wrote.
In the same message, António Costa said he had discussed with Geraldo Alckmin “the importance of concluding the European Union-Mercosur agreement as soon as possible.”
