French deputies — members of the National Assembly bureau — have deemed the proposal to remove Emmanuel Macron from office unacceptable. This decision was predictable, given the new composition of this body. Now it has become official.
Le Figaro writes about this on October 8.
According to available information, the National Assembly bureau has just declared inadmissible a motion to remove President Emmanuel Macron, submitted by representatives of “Unruly France” and signed by 104 left-wing deputies, including some environmentalists.
The deputies who make up the bureau were divided in their votes – between those who were “for”, those who abstained, and those who voted “against”. On the left, as expected, representatives of “France Insubordinate” Nadège Abomangoli and Clémence Goette, who are vice-presidents of the institution, voted “for”, as did the environmental and socialist deputies present. All deputies from the joint ruling bloc voted “against”. Representatives of the “National Unity” party abstained.
The final result of the vote: 5 votes “for”, 10 “against” and 5 abstentions.
Therefore, there will be no debate either in the legislative committee or in the session hall regarding the possible procedure for removing the President of the Republic.
Recall that recently, following French Prime Minister Sebastian Le Corneille, the head of the Ministry of Defense, Bruno Le Maire, announced his resignation. On the social network X, the Minister of Defense wrote that President Emmanuel Macron had already accepted his resignation.
Yesterday it became known that French Prime Minister Sébastien Le Corneille had resigned. The Prime Minister did so the day after the composition of his government was announced. Le Corneille was the fifth head of government in France in less than two years.
The resignation of the prime minister occurred 26 days after Le Corneille was appointed to this position. Before that, the government was headed by François Bayrou. Now several political parties are even demanding early elections. There are some that are demanding Macron's resignation .
These developments, including Macron's loss of support in the National Assembly, reflect a deep political crisis in France. It is due to the fact that the institutions of the Fifth Republic are not working well in the current political realities of the country. It also reflects the fragmentation of French society and its polarization, which has led to the strengthening of the positions of extreme forces: both right and left.
