Israel strikes Yemeni capital a day after striking Qatari capital

Israel struck Yemen's capital, Sanaa, and the northern province of Al-Jawf, saying the attack was aimed at the Houthis. At least nine people were killed.

This is reported by Reuters and Al Jazeera .

The Israeli military explained that it struck military camps, the Houthi public relations headquarters, and a fuel depot.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the strike was in response to a Houthi drone attack on Ramon Airport in Israel a few days ago.

“We will continue to strike. Anyone who strikes us, anyone who attacks us, we will get to them,” Netanyahu stressed.

At the same time, the Houthi Ministry of Health stated that civilian and residential areas were targeted, including a medical facility in Sana'a and a government complex in the capital of Al-Jawfah province, Al-Hazmi.

According to the agency, at least 9 people were killed and 118 others were injured in the attack. These figures were described as preliminary as rescuers continue to search the sites of the strikes.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sari claims that the group used surface-to-air missiles against Israeli aircraft, forcing some of them to turn back before they could use their weapons.

This is not the first Israeli strike on Yemen, part of which is controlled by the Houthis. The group, which is linked to Iran, has been blocking ships in the Red Sea bound for Israel and attacking Israeli territory in support of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

In August, an Israeli airstrike killed senior Yemeni officials, including Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi, and several ministers.

The day before, on November 9, Israel struck the capital of Qatar, Doha . Israel explained that it was a “precise strike on the senior leadership of Hamas.”
