The UK and Denmark intend to strengthen cooperation on security, science and technology, illegal migration, trade, and climate change, a joint statement signed in London Tuesday reads.

UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly and his Danish counterpart, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, signed a joint statement in London on Tuesday to strengthen peace and security in Europe in the face of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, a press release from the UK Foreign Office reads.

The two are indeed committed “to continued support to Ukraine and its future recovery and reconstruction.”

On the side of the UK, Cleverly called Denmark “an indefensible partner” in defence cooperation, saying it is “helping to deter Russian aggression in the North and Baltic Seas and protecting Europe’s energy supplies”.

The joint statement was signed ahead of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London on Wednesday.

“The UK and Denmark will continue to work together to solve tomorrow’s problem as a united force on the global stage,” Cleverly added.
