After threats from the Russian Foreign Ministry to launch “successive strikes” on Kyiv, Foreign Minister Lavrov conveyed to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio a message from Vladimir Putin for President Donald Trump.

Lavrov “officially proved” to the American side that the Russian army is launching “systematic strikes on facilities in Kyiv” that are allegedly used for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Rubio, speaking to reporters, noted that the Russians sent this warning to all embassies, not just the US, but Lavrov called him to tell him about it personally.
“Putin wanted him to ask me to deliver the message directly to the President (Trump, – ed.), which I did. But obviously we had already seen the message that was sent to all diplomatic institutions,” the Secretary of State said.
The US Secretary of State added that “the US is always ready to play a constructive role” in negotiations between Ukraine and the Russian Federation.
According to him, the United States is ready and prepared to do everything possible to achieve a result.

“Every time you see these large-scale strikes from one side or another, it’s a reminder of why this is a terrible war that has been going on longer than World War II, and why it needs to end. And the United States is ready and prepared to do everything it can to help end this war, and hopefully at some point there will be an opportunity to play that role again,” the Secretary of State said.
Recall that Putin signed a law that allows the use of Russian armed forces abroad under the pretext of “protecting Russian citizens.”
