US President Donald Trump stated that any accord with Iran hinges exclusively on his determination, and asserts that Washington will not be precipitate in the deliberations.
This is according to reports from the BBC.
“Whether an arrangement is reached is solely my prerogative, and any forthcoming news will undoubtedly be positive — I never broker unfavorable deals,” the American president conveyed during a phone conversation with ABC News.
Trump chose not to elaborate on the specifics of the conversations, but noted that they were “progressing in a structured and productive fashion.”
Simultaneously, the Commander-in-Chief declared that the naval embargo implemented against Iran would persist until the agreement is finalized and ratified.
The US President confirmed that he urged American envoys taking part in the talks not to be hasty in finalizing a settlement with Iran.
“We will not be pressured into a deal given that time favors us,” he remarked.
Donald Trump reiterated Washington's stance concerning the Iranian atomic agenda and affirmed that Iran must not “create or procure” atomic arms.
Subsequently, the US president posted a message on his Truth Social platform, where he announced that “one of the most disastrous agreements our nation has ever entered into was the Iran nuclear deal, suggested and executed by Barack Hussein Obama and the Obama administration’s amateurs.
“This directly paved the way for Iran to develop atomic weaponry. This bears no relation to the agreement the Trump administration is presently negotiating with Iran — actually, quite the contrary!” the US president expressed in his post.

As a reminder, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio previously indicated that there is a possibility of achieving a settlement to bring the war in the Middle East to a close in just a matter of days.
Furthermore, Axios, citing a pair of US officials, conveyed that Washington is contemplating the potential of initiating a renewed assault on Iran, owing to the fact that the negotiations are not yielding the anticipated outcomes.
