There will be more even despite the truce: Trump hinted at the continuation of the war against Iran

While visiting Beijing, US President Donald Trump made it clear that he is not going to stop there in the war against Iran, despite a fragile ceasefire, CNN reports.

Trump published a lengthy post on Truth Social, explaining what Chinese leader Xi Jinping meant when he called the United States a “failing nation.” According to the American president, Xi was talking exclusively about the consequences of four years of Joe Biden’s presidency — “open borders, high taxes, rampant crime, and unprofitable trade deals.”

Instead, Trump highlighted the achievements of his own administration: record-breaking stock markets, “the best job market in history,” and $18 trillion in foreign investment. His most telling line about Iran was: speaking of the “military destruction” of the country, he added, “there will be more.” Thus, the president effectively announced the continuation of hostilities despite the current ceasefire.

According to Trump, Xi Jinping congratulated him on the “tremendous successes” of the US administration. CNN reports that at the meeting in Beijing, the leaders also discussed the issue of arms supplies: in a comment to Fox News, Trump said that Xi promised not to supply military equipment to Tehran.

But the truce remains an open question. Even before leaving for China, Trump described it as being on “very high life support” — that is, extremely fragile. Vice President J.D. Vance added that “there is progress” but it is unclear whether Tehran will fulfill Washington’s main condition — giving up nuclear weapons.

In addition to the Iran issue, the summit was overshadowed by talk of Taiwan. At a state banquet, Xi Jinping called the Taiwan issue “the most important in Sino-US relations” and warned that any mishandling of it could create an “extremely dangerous situation.” He also stressed that US-China relations are “the most important in the world” and called for their destruction to be prevented.

It was previously reported that Donald Trump is ready to ignore the economic consequences for the United States in order to deter Tehran's nuclear ambitions.
