The publication writes that the person under observation is currently asymptomatic. However, his condition will be monitored for seven days.

It is known that three people died from the infection on the MV Hondius cruise ship — a couple from the Netherlands and a German citizen.
Several other passengers who disembarked on the islands of Saint Helena and Tristan da Cunha at the end of April are also suspected of being infected.
Hantavirus is an infection transmitted to humans by rodents. Infection occurs through inhalation of air contaminated with the secretions of infected animals, or through contact with broken skin.
The virus can also enter the body through dust in closed or poorly ventilated spaces.

In severe cases, the disease can quickly lead to breathing problems, fluid buildup in the lungs, or kidney failure.
There is currently no specific treatment or officially approved vaccine for hantavirus. Doctors use supportive care and ongoing medical supervision.
As reported by “FACTS”, a large-scale evacuation of passengers is underway in the area of the Spanish island of Tenerife. They are being brought to the shore in sealed vehicles through an isolated corridor with subsequent repatriation to their countries of origin. Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland and the Netherlands have already sent planes to evacuate their citizens. The EU is sending two additional planes for other European passengers, and the USA and the UK are preparing their own flights and backup plans.
