The US President made known the temporary cessation of the endeavor under the banner of Project Freedom, concerned with safeguarding maritime traffic through the Hormuz Strait.

The announcement by the American head of state occurred on his Truth Social platform.

Trump indicated that the choice was influenced by pleas from Pakistan and various other countries, alongside positive strides in discussions between the US and Iran.

“Considering the appeals from Pakistan among others, coupled with notable military triumphs in the drive opposing Iran and considerable headway in negotiations for a definitive accord, we’ve consented to provisionally suspend Project Freedom,” penned the US president.

Simultaneously, Trump underscored that the blockade shall persist, and the operational respite is intended to grant the parties an opening to finalize the drafting and signing of a prospective pact with Iran.

The US previously communicated that Project Freedom encompasses the escorting of vessels via the Hormuz Strait utilizing American warships, planes, and unmanned aerial vehicles owing to the heightening tensions within the locale.
