In spite of the choice of US President Donald Trump to pull back a portion of the soldiers from Germany, Poland is in discussions to expand the American presence in Poland, as reported by RMF24, said the Polish Defense Minister, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz.
As per his words, American soldiers are crucial within Europe.
“It’s incredibly vital for us that the forces stay put in Europe, remain situated in Poland. And irrespective of events unfolding in Germany, we are in talks not solely regarding keeping the presence in Poland, but additionally about amplifying it,” the minister declared.
He highlighted that “the Polish approach remains consistent.”
Kosiniak-Kamysz additionally mentioned that Poland possesses “the biggest military force within the European Union” and “the third largest in NATO, trailing only the United States and Turkey.”
“We possess our own power. We require allies, but they will only value us when we exhibit strength. Nobody puts their faith in the vulnerable,” he remarked.
As a reminder, Trump stated that the United States intends to diminish its military footprint in Germany and remove considerably more troops than the previously communicated five thousand. Simultaneously, American Republican legislators voiced that they are “deeply troubled” by the president's resolution. In their view, the alteration in America’s stance within Europe could transmit an incorrect message to the leader of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin.
