Iranian Parliament Head Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that the US had contravened three stipulations out of the ten points of the agreed framework, even prior to the start of potential peace talks.

He communicated this via the social media platform X, as reported by the Associated Press.

He mentioned that this renders both negotiations and a cessation of hostilities meaningless. Ghalibaf contends that Washington has not fulfilled the prerequisites that Iran established as the foundation for a resolution.

This relates, notably, to:

  • ongoing offensives against Lebanon,

  • the incursion of a drone into Iranian territory,

  • The stance taken by the Donald Trump administration regarding the prohibition on uranium enrichment.

According to the speaker, Trump previously acknowledged the Iranian ten-point proposal as the basis for talks, yet the US violated it even before they started.

Truce between the US and Iran — latest news

As a reminder, Israel initiated a large-scale assault on Lebanon on Wednesday, April 8. The IDF declared the most substantial attack and 100 targets hit within 10 minutes. The operations focused on Hezbollah command centers and military installations in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley, and southern Lebanon.

Concurrently, US and Israeli forces supposedly attacked an Iranian petroleum facility on Laban Island. Iran retaliated by striking targets in Kuwait, Bahrain, and the UAE.

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu consented to Trump's suggested two-week truce with Iran , but only on the condition that the Strait of Hormuz is opened and hostilities in the region are halted. Nevertheless, Israel does not extend the truce to Lebanon and preserves the prerogative to continue military actions in that area.
