Iran's military has warned the United States and Israel that they face “hell” if the conflict escalates, effectively echoing a threat from US President Donald Trump. The response came after Trump threatened “hell” if Iran did not reach a deal to open the Strait of Hormuz by Monday, CNN reports.

The commander of Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Staff in Tehran, Major General Ali Abdollahi Aliabadi, warned that “the gates of hell will open for you” if Iran's infrastructure continues to be attacked, the Iranian government-run Mehr news agency reported.
“Don't forget: if hostilities expand, the entire region will become hell for you. The illusion of victory over the Islamic Republic of Iran has turned into a swamp that will swallow you up,” said Ebrahim Zolfaghari, a spokesman for the Central Command .
Currently, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters functions as the operational headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces.

It should be added that Axios reported on April 1 that the US and Iran were discussing a possible deal that would include a ceasefire in exchange for Tehran opening the Strait of Hormuz. At that time, Trump's instructions, Vice President J.D. Vance, made it clear that Trump was ready for a truce if certain US demands were met.
On April 3, the US president threatened Iran with new strikes on infrastructure, including bridges and power plants.
On April 5, US President Donald Trump said that “many” Iranian military leaders were killed in a “massive strike” on Tehran. The American president wrote about this on his social network Truth Social. Trump accompanied his post with a video showing explosions, flares and the roar of aircraft.

Later, information emerged that the Trump team had not agreed with Iran on a ceasefire.
