Ukraine and Syria have come to a consensus to reinstate the operations of diplomatic posts in Kyiv and Damascus imminently.
This declaration was made by Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga on the X platform following deliberations with his Syrian counterpart, Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani.
“We concurred on the resumption of embassy functions in Kyiv and Damascus shortly – a pivotal move towards solidifying our collaboration,” the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry chief highlighted.
According to his statement, boosted political discussions are now producing evident gains in the economic sector. Subsequent to the signing of the Joint Communiqué on the renewal of diplomatic ties, the level of two-way commerce has grown by a factor of nine.
“And we perceive apparent possibilities for its future growth,” Sibiga noted.
Furthermore, throughout the session, the participants addressed security proposals, alongside the advancement of trade and sea lanes capable of bolstering economic engagement between the nations.
Particular focus was directed toward food security. Ukraine affirmed its willingness to partake in aiding the region, notably via the execution of the Grain from Ukraine undertaking.
Consequently, Kyiv and Damascus are transitioning from political understandings to the realistic enactment of partnership, especially within the diplomatic, economic, and humanitarian areas.
