
The fighting in the Middle East has been going on for a month now. And it is not yet known how events will develop. Against this backdrop, the Pentagon has begun talking about the depletion of Tomahawk missile stocks, of which more than 850 have been fired during this time, writes TSN, citing The Washington Post. Currently, the discussion has intensified regarding the need to increase stocks of this type of weapon.
In particular, there are concerns that risks could arise both for the current campaign in Iran and for possible scenarios elsewhere. This comes amid discussions in the White House about a possible escalation of the conflict, including the use of ground forces, in parallel with negotiations to end the fighting.
One Pentagon official described the remaining missiles in the region as “alarmingly low,” while another warned that they were nearing depletion.

At the same time, Pentagon press secretary Sean Parnell said that the US military “has everything necessary to carry out any mission at the time and place determined by the president, and on any timeline,” but declined to comment on the number of missiles that were both used and remaining.
It was previously reported that the Persian Gulf countries have almost exhausted their stockpiles of Patriot missiles, repelling Iranian missile and drone attacks.
