Traditionally, Trump’s supporters acclaimed him following his public declaration, but adversaries remained unconvinced.

The US President, Donald Trump, addressed the country concerning the conflict in Iran. Officials within the White House expressed contentment with the US leader’s address. Nevertheless, this sentiment is not universally shared.
This information comes from CNN.
US government officials asserted that Trump’s address fulfilled its intended purpose. He outlined Washington’s rationale behind the conflict, lauded the accomplishments of the military campaign, and concurrently reassured the American population that the conflict was approaching its conclusion.
The news source highlights that the president adhered to the prepared text, delivering his address within the designated 20-minute timeframe. However, CNN emphasizes that his discourse contained no novel revelations for those who had diligently followed Trump’s remarks on Iran throughout the 32 days of Operation Epic Fury.
However, officials anticipated that the president’s delivery style — characterized by the solemnity of a national address — would persuade many Americans to place their confidence in him, particularly at a juncture when opinion surveys consistently indicate diminishing public patience.
Trump’s speech also garnered favorable feedback from his political peers on Capitol Hill. Notably, the leader’s declarations elicited positive responses from figures such as Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin, Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, and Senator Tom Cotton.
Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, a proponent of military engagement in Iran, praised Trump.
“His stewardship, bolstered by the valor of our service members, is the justification for our increased sense of security,” the politician emphasized.
Conversely, certain US officials found Trump’s address less persuasive. Specifically, Democratic Senator from Delaware Chris Coons voiced disapproval of the president. In her assessment, Washington “lacks a cohesive plan, is disorganized, ambiguous, and lacks seriousness.”
Republican US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene also expressed dissatisfaction with the pronouncements emanating from the White House, which, according to her, centered solely on the war.
“The sole message I gleaned from his speech today was incessant discussion of war. There was no mention of measures to alleviate the cost of living for Americans, reduce our nearly $40 trillion national debt, or safeguard a social security system teetering on the brink of insolvency within a few years,” she stated.
Trump's address to the nation – statements
The US leader declared that the United States was “nearing the culmination” of “pivotal strategic objectives” in the conflict with Iran. However, he cautioned against “exceptionally forceful” strikes in the immediate future – contingent upon the absence of agreements.
The White House chief of staff conveyed that he had consistently favored diplomatic solutions. However, the Iranian government rebuffed his entreaty, prompting him to authorize strikes on Tehran’s nuclear installations last June. According to Trump, Iran subsequently endeavored to revive its nuclear program and was “on the cusp” of acquiring a nuclear weapon.
Trump indicated that in the aftermath of the conflict, the blockaded Strait of Hormuz “will ultimately become accessible of its own accord.” He further stipulated that China, Japan, and South Korea should participate in its reopening, given their significant reliance on it for energy resources.
