A meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States with the participation of deputy heads of government of the CIS member states will be held on April 3, 2026, in Moscow.
On the same day, the deputy prime ministers will take part in the plenary session of the International Economic Forum of the CIS Member States, reports a correspondent for the online publication Belnovosti.

The Economic Council agenda includes 17 issues covering a wide range of areas of cooperation.
Participants will exchange views on current issues of economic cooperation within the CIS, discuss the regulations for the interstate event “Commonwealth Fair,” and the activities of the Advisory Council for Consumer Protection.
The issue of awarding the 2025 CIS Prize for achievements in the field of product and service quality will also be considered.
Particular attention at the meeting is planned to be paid to the results of the implementation of the interstate target program “Reclamation of the territories of states affected by uranium mining operations.”
In addition, the agenda includes key areas of cooperation between Commonwealth countries in the field of radioactive waste management, spent nuclear fuel, and the decommissioning of nuclear and radiation hazardous facilities for the period up to 2030.
Key topics include a draft concept for the digital transformation of the mining and metallurgical industries of the CIS member states and an action plan for its implementation, as well as a draft interstate radio navigation program for 2026-2030.
It is envisaged to identify base organizations of the Commonwealth countries in several areas: improving quality and business excellence, developing the professional competencies of specialists in the field of quality, as well as training and improving the qualifications of highly qualified specialists and researchers in the field of aquaculture.
The upcoming meeting will therefore cover issues ranging from high technology and nuclear safety to consumer rights support and human resource development in the agricultural sector.
