King Charles and Queen Camilla were reportedly preparing for a major trip when an unexpected turn of events abruptly halted it at the last minute. Last year, the royal family hosted US President Donald Trump on an unprecedented state visit at the request of the UK government. Now it’s time for a return visit. Preparations are reportedly underway, with the White House sending a formal invitation to Buckingham Palace. Charles and Camilla were due to fly to Washington at the end of the month for a three-day visit to coincide with the 250th anniversary of America’s independence.

However, the trip is being postponed after conflict erupted between the US and Iran last week, Geo.TV reports.
The UK government is responsible for approving the plans as there were “wobbles” at the last minute, according to a Whitehall source involved in planning the trip.
“The plans were first put on hold in early February. Among other things, there has been a noticeable lack of progress on technology-related trade deals that were agreed during Trump’s visit,” the source said.

Trump called Keir Starmer “not Winston Churchill” for initially refusing to intervene in the conflict. Senior government officials believe the trip should be postponed until tensions subside.
It was previously reported that Kushner and Witkoff are urgently traveling to Israel due to a possible diplomatic crisis between Washington and Tel Aviv, and a secret US intelligence report called Trump's plan for Iran unrealistic.
