A tragedy involving a Russian tourist occurred in Egypt, and now her family faces bureaucratic and financial obstacles preventing them from bringing her body home.
Details of the incident were reported by a Belnovosti correspondent with reference to a Life.ru publication .
69-year-old Tatyana Ivanovna from the Samara region traveled abroad for the first time and stayed at a hotel in Sharm el-Sheikh.

After a seafood dinner, her health suddenly worsened: she began vomiting, developed diarrhea, and developed a high fever.
The woman was hospitalized, but her condition rapidly worsened.
Doctors diagnosed severe anemia, toxic liver damage, septic shock and multiple organ failure.
After 12 days of treatment, she died – doctors reported cardiac arrest.
The treatment costs were enormous—almost $28,000. The tourist didn't have that kind of money, so the clinic offered the procedures on credit.
The hospital now refuses to issue an official medical certificate of cause of death until the debt is fully repaid.
Without this document, it is impossible to organize the repatriation of the body, although the insurance company is willing to pay for transportation.
Residents of Tatyana Ivanovna's home village raised the necessary sum, but transferring the money to Egypt proved problematic: international restrictions prevented the transfer.
Relatives have contacted the Russian consulate for assistance. Meanwhile, the woman's body and personal belongings remain at the hospital, where storage fees are charged daily.
