“The discussions in Abu Dhabi are planned to span two days, as part of continuous endeavors to foster conversation and identify diplomatic solutions to the situation,” affirmed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the United Arab Emirates.
The Foreign Ministry voiced its expectation that these talks “will aid in substantial measures to put an end to” the war in Ukraine.
It is worth recalling that the initial round of discussions occurred on January 23. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, along with the Chief of the Presidential Office Kirill Budanov, the leader of the Servant of the People faction David Arakhamia, and the deputy chief of the Bankovaya Serhiy Kyslytsia, participated in a three-sided gathering.
“The session was focused on the conditions for ending the Russian hostilities and the ensuing framework of the negotiation process, aiming for a respectable and durable peace. Further sessions are slated for the following day. The Ukrainian delegation will be augmented by the Chief of the General Staff, General Andriy Hnatov, and the Deputy Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Lieutenant General Vadim Skibitsky,” he clarified.
Head of State Volodymyr Zelensky communicated that Ukrainian delegates provide him with updates on the discussions practically every hour. Zelensky underscored that it is premature to reach judgments about the meeting’s outcomes. It is noteworthy that the deliberations between the participating nations are scheduled to extend over two days.
American sources deem Budanov to be Ukraine's key asset in the talks. The publication's sources, who advise the American military and intelligence concerning Ukraine matters, suggest that Budanov's involvement in the negotiations is regarded with notable favor.
