The US President, Donald Trump, communicated that the United States is dispatching considerable marine contingents in the direction of Iran due to the intensification of the scenario following a number of rallies within the nation.
He related this information to news reporters while aboard his aircraft, en route from Davos, as reported by CNN.
As per Trump’s statements, US vessels are proceeding “as a precaution,” and a “sizable naval fleet” is advancing toward Iran.
“Numerous vessels of ours are shifting in that general direction – purely as a precautionary measure… An extensive armada is in motion, and we shall observe subsequent developments. We possess a significant contingent advancing toward Iran,” the American leader underscored.
Trump further asserted his preference to circumvent the application of military power and avert any increase in confrontation.
“Ideally, I’d prefer that no incidents occur, yet we are scrutinizing their actions with utmost attention,” he supplemented.
The dispatch highlights that a US carrier strike group is anticipated to reach the Middle East within the foreseeable future.
It is recalled that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had earlier verified the loss of “several thousand” lives resulting from the demonstrations in Iran, while vehemently denying any culpability on the part of the security apparatus.
