Ukraine and the United States intend to suggest a limited halt in hostilities and a cessation of strikes on power facilities to the Kremlin during discussions in Abu Dhabi.

At discussions in Abu Dhabi (UAE), the US and Ukraine might propose to Russia a restricted cessation of fighting, under which Moscow would cease targeting Ukrainian energy infrastructure, and Kyiv would cease its assaults on refineries and tankers of the Kremlin's “shadow fleet.”

A high-ranking US official stated that the trilateral gathering is anticipated to occur on Friday and Saturday in the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. Russia has not yet communicated whether it has consented to hold the gathering.
“It’s better to have some dialogue than none,” Zelensky remarked following a meeting with US President Donald Trump, adding that the discussions would be conducted at a “technical level.” Nonetheless, he emphasized that both parties must be prepared to make allowances to achieve headway.
“Russians must be willing to compromise, because, you know, everyone must be willing to do this — not only Ukraine,” Zelensky asserted.

An energy truce might not be suitable for either Ukraine or Russia
