A Western security expert calculates that the worth of the missiles Iran furnished to Russia is in the range of $2.7 billion to $3 billion, all for the purpose of backing President Vladimir Putin in his conflict against Ukraine.

This is mentioned within the Bloomberg publication.

Accords between Tehran and Moscow commenced in October 2021, predating the commencement of Russia's large-scale incursion into Ukraine. Under these arrangements, Iran delivered hundreds of short-range Fath-360 ballistic rockets, around 500 other ballistic projectiles, and approximately 200 anti-aircraft rockets intended for aerial defense platforms.

Since the war’s initiation, Russia and Iran have forged closer bonds, irrespective of extensive Western economic penalties imposed on Moscow. Estimates suggest that Russia has expended upwards of $4 billion on Iranian military hardware since the conclusion of 2021.

Aside from rockets, Iran has equipped Russia with Shahed-136 suicide drones and imparted technological know-how for the assembly of comparable drones designated Geran-2. The agreement pertaining to the provision of drones, formalized in the early part of 2023, carries an estimated price tag of $1.75 billion.

The defense ministries of Russia and Iran have offered no commentary regarding the shipments. The nation itself is subjected to limitations on internet access and an almost absolute news embargo.

Analysts assert that Iran has also supplied Russia with millions of units of ammunition and artillery shells, even though certain military acquisitions remain pending. In spite of the strategic alliance linking the two nations, the pact, inked in January 2025, excludes a mutual defense clause.

It had been previously communicated that US President Donald Trump articulated his eagerness to assist Iran in attaining liberty.

Concurrently, Iran cautioned that in the occurrence of an American assault on the country, the military forces of both the US and Israel would transition into “legitimate targets.”
