Iranian demonstrators have seized control of a pair of cities situated in the western part of the nation, as activists battling the ayatollah’s administration have issued a direct plea for assistance to US President Donald Trump.

This information was provided by Fox News, citing individuals from the National Council of Resistance of Iran.

An informant for the American TV network disclosed that “notable occurrences” transpired in western Iran, leading to the cities of Abdanan and Malekshahi in Ilam province being taken over by demonstrators.

“Despite all the administration’s endeavors, the dread element seems to have shifted as citizens have compelled the oppressive forces to escape,” the channel’s informant conveyed.

As per their account, the demonstrators who are in command of these cities are celebrating triumph and chanting expressions such as “Death to Khamenei!”, urging for the removal of the nation's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, Maryam Rajavi, also shared a message on X where she honored the demonstrators in Malekshahi and Abdanan, stating they “forced the agents of the administration to withdraw.”

Based on available data, the demonstrations have propagated to more than 60 cities across 25 provinces.

The most significant demonstrations are unfolding in Tehran, while the most intense confrontations are being recorded in the west and southwest of the nation – in Malekshah, Kermanshah, and Lordegan.

There are accounts of intensification by security entities, encompassing the employment of shotguns, tear gas, and outright assaults on demonstrators.

Such disciplinary actions by the Iranian administration have prompted demonstrators to seek help from US President Donald Trump.

The appeal, circulated on X, portrayed a woman holding a sign that conveyed: “Trump, symbol of peace. Don’t let them kill us.” Comparable inscriptions were made on walls.

The plea from Iranian demonstrators for aid surfaced amidst reports indicating that a minimum of 29 individuals have been killed and upwards of 1,200 have been apprehended.

Iranian demonstrations, triggered by an economic downturn and political dissatisfaction, are progressively becoming widespread. Extensive displays commenced in late December over a notable devaluation of the national currency. The authorities countered with suppression.

As a reminder, US President Donald Trump previously cautioned the Iranian authorities with intervention should they engage in violent conduct against peaceful demonstrators.
