In Nigeria, a group of armed men kidnapped 317 students from the Government Girls' Secondary Boarding School in Jangebe.
According to foreign websites, the incident occurred on the morning of February 26.
The militants drove up to the school building in SUVs, took the girls outside and forced them into the cars.

The attackers were dressed in the uniform of state security service officers.
A spokesman for the Zamfara state governor said authorities were doing everything possible to return the girls.
All boarding schools in Nigeria have been temporarily closed.
The girls' whereabouts are currently unknown.
Several large criminal groups are known to operate in Zamfara, kidnapping people and demanding ransom.
According to local police, the girls may be in one of the bandit camps in the Rugu forest.
However, the authorities have not yet received any offers to buy out the authorities.
