Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has spoken in favor of restoring the “CIS family” to its former composition.
The head of state made the corresponding statement on October 8 at a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State in Moscow.
The president's words are quoted by his press service.

What Lukashenko said about restoring the “CIS family”
The head of state stated that it would be very good if Georgia and Ukraine returned to the “CIS family,” and Moldova resumed full participation.
I'm absolutely certain that's how it will be. It's just a matter of time,” the president added.
Lukashenko stressed that countries should value what they have in the CIS.
He noted that everyone who remained in the CIS is demonstrating decent results.
“We have not lost control of our country,” the head of state noted.
He suggested thinking about how to use the potential of regional integration more effectively.
According to the president, a strong union of strong and economically self-sufficient sovereign countries is needed.
The head of state also stated the need to respect national interests and create equal conditions.
Much has already been done, but there is still room for improvement, Lukashenko added.
