Still $25: Egypt's Ministry of Tourism has officially denied rumors of a tourist visa price increase.

The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has officially denied reports of an increase in the cost of tourist visas.

In a statement issued by the department and distributed by the State Information Service, information about a price increase from $25 to $45 was described as untrue, reports a correspondent for the online publication Belnovosti.

According to the Association of Tour Operators, the ministry explained that the amendments to Law No. 175 of 2025 only establish the maximum possible visa fee, but do not change the current tariff.

The decision to set a $45 cap does not mean it is automatically applied.

Currently, the cost of a single-entry tourist visa on arrival for citizens of most countries, including Russia, remains at US$25.

As before, tourists entering through Sharm el-Sheikh Airport for a stay of up to 15 days can receive a free entry permit stamp to visit the Sinai Peninsula.

A full visa fee of $25 will be required if the traveler plans to travel outside the region, such as to Cairo.

The Ministry of Tourism emphasized that any future changes to visa policy will be officially announced through press releases from authorized government agencies.
