International Women’s Day, on 8 March, was a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marked a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.
On this year’s International Women’s Day, the European Commission released its 2024 Report on Gender Equality in the EU, offering insights into the advancements made in implementing the Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2025.
The EFA General Assembly 2024 also took place on International Women’s Day, celebrating the pivotal role of women at the forefront of gender equality within the EFA and the EFA Family. The EFA Spitzenkandidaten, Maylis Roßberg and Raül Romeva, presented the different chapters of the EFA electoral manifesto.
